Interview With Alejandra Laprea, Struggle for Housing in Catalonia, and Conference on Regional Integration | Issue #7
Hello, sisters of the world!
We have recently published an interview with the World March of Women militant Alejandra Laprea, in which she addressed the history of the WMW in Venezuela, the anti-imperialist struggles in her country and in the region, and the importance of building an internationalist grassroots feminism with a solid practice of forming alliances with other global grassroots movements. Alejandra is a member of the WMW International Committee representing the Americas.
We have also shared the experience of feminist struggle for housing in Catalonia, an account written by Isadora Prieto, of the World March of Women in the Spanish state. Isadora denounces the housing crisis, and the high housing prices that especially affect migrants, while homes sit vacant due to real estate speculation. On the other hand, Isadora also addresses the okupation movements and housing cooperatives as part of grassroots resistance, and women’s contribution for the struggle for decent housing and well-being.
And now Capire is joining Real World Radio and the Collective of Women Communicators of the World March of Women Brazil to produce the radio show Fúria Feminista. The episode Furia Feminista: Feminismo, ambientalismo e integración regional, available in Spanish, addresses the Latin American and Caribbean Conference on Regional Integration. You can watch some of the WMW participation in the Conference, listen to this episode of the show, and read the full interviews with Natalia Salvático and Cony Oviedo on our website.
