This week on Capire | Feminist organization in Georgia and solidarity with Cuba
Hello, sisters of the world!
This week we share an article written collectively by Marika Kapanadze, Ana Muradashvili and Nino Rostomashvili, members of the National Coordination of the World March of Women, which was recently set up in Georgia. They talk about the challenges women face in the country, feminist struggles and the building of the WMW. "Being part of a powerful network like the WMW is very important in this process, because of the support and solidarity that comes from comrades all over the world," they say.
And an international demonstration of solidarity is being built in defense of the Cuban people who are suffering from the blockade imposed by the United States and the country's inclusion on the list of state sponsors of terrorism in 2021. The Cuba Vive campaign is gathering signatures to pressure the current US president to remove the country from the list. In a video, women from the World March of Women in Cuba denounce the impact of the blockade on their lives and call on everyone to join the campaign. Watch the video!
