March 30th, Palestinian Land Day | Issue #8
Hello, sisters of the world!
Listening to the voices of Palestinian women is fundamental to understand the historical and current forms of genocide against the Palestinian people. In addition to exposing the more than 30,000 Palestinians killed by Israel since October 2023—of which nearly 25,000 were women and children—, Palestinian women have addressed how genocide is not simply about numbers, but it is rather an orchestrated policy. Genocide is an attack on the bases that sustain life: land, bodies, the everyday work of production and reproduction of Palestinian life. Palestinian women are waging the struggle—they resist every day and face the brutality of imperialism against their bodies and territories. They call us to make the struggle for Free Palestine massive, from the river to the sea.
Around the world, the women with the World March of Women will hold a 24-Hour Feminist Solidarity Action for Palestine this March 30th, Palestinian Land Day. This activity calls militants to hold solidarity activities at noon, in an action that will follow the sun around the Earth. Mobilizations start on the Pacific Islands, then go on to Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe simultaneously, and end in the Americas. As the WMW call for this action reads, “we will emphasize the urgent need to end the occupation and genocide immediately. These synchronized actions serve as a powerful reminder of our interconnectedness and the strength that comes from our unity in action.”
At Capire we echo voices of Palestinian militants who took part in seminars organized by women with La Via Campesina and the World March of Women on March 21st and 22nd.
We also suggest you check out the gallery of feminist posters in solidarity with Palestine, which we organized in partnership with the International Peoples’ Assembly (IPA), ALBA Movements, and the Utopix collective.
