✊ Voices of Pastoralist Women: Leadership and Resilience in the Month of Working Women’s Struggle
Sri Lanka will hold in September the 3rd Nyéléni Global Forum, bringing together movements from across the world to build joint actions for food sovereignty and to fight the capitalist, racist, and patriarchal crisis. The World Alliance of Mobile Indigenous Peoples and Pastoralists (WAMIP), which takes part in the Nyéléni Forum, held a webinar where pastoralist women from Mongolia, India, Kenya, and Argentina shared their experiences and challenges. This activity was part of the actions that are being organized by different movements as they prepare for the forum. You can read these women’s accounts and learn more from their experiences here.
🌱 MST Agroecology: The National Agrarian Reform Fair in Brazil
The 5th National Agrarian Reform Fair brought together more than 2,000 farmers from the settlements and encampments of the Landless Workers’ Movement (MST) between May 8th and 11th, 2025 in São Paulo, Brazil. It featured 580 tons of food, 1,920 types of products, local cuisine from 23 Brazilian regions, art, culture, and discussion panels that synthesized and expressed, in practice, the Popular Agrarian Reform agenda and its centrality in the Brazilian context. At Capire, we published a photo gallery featuring the participation of women farmers at the fair, with pictures taken by the MST Communications Team. We also shared excerpts from an article by Nívia Regina, an MST leader and member of the movement’s Internationalist Brigade to Cuba.
